Dopo 1h:02m siamo a Cape Girardeau. Con i suoi 36.000 abitanti è la maggiore città nel sud-est del Missouri e prende il nome dal soldato francese Jean Baptiste de Girardot che aveva istituito una stazione commerciale attorno al 1733. E' anche conosciuta come la "città delle rose" per i numerosi roseti che un tempo la adornavano
